Chris McDaniel: Reduce taxes further than Trump's good first step

Q: Taxes: Support President Trump's tax cut bill?

Mike Espy (D): No position found.

Cindy Hyde-Smith (R): Yes. Supports Trump's tax cuts.

Chris McDaniel (R): Mixed. Called early drafts "an embarrassment." Called final version "a good first step," but said taxes needed to be reduced further."

David Baria: Fight for real tax relief that won't benefit the rich

I have spent a lot of time talking about real tax relief for working families. That's because the recent tax overhaul passed by Congress has failed on its promise to put money in the pockets of American workers. Unfortunately, most of that money has instead gone towards tax cuts for the wealthiest 1% and large corporations. To make matters worse, the new tax plan will likely be paid for by cuts to essential programs like Social Security and Medicare and additional strain on our national debt.

Cindy Hyde-Smith: Champion of GOP tax reform bill; cites historic tax cuts

Hyde-Smith's website says she's a "strong, unwavering supporter of President Trump." She met with VP Mike Pence and Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to champion the GOP's tax reform last year. The agenda outlined on her campaign site favors the Trump administration, as well. She wants to protect "historic Trump tax cuts," champion Trump's immigration plan, fully repeal Obamacare, protect the Second Amendment, and support "the right to life of the unborn."

Robert Gray: We need more people paying taxes by having jobs

Gray thinks Gov. Bryant is bad for business. That's why he decided to run. "I know I can do a better job than the guy we got now. We have got to get jobs here. We need to get our young men and women working. We don't need to raise taxes. We need more people paying taxes."
